Title deed and legal status
The ownership structure and the purchase process should be checked.
Developer and project
The developer’s past deliveries and the current status of the project should be reviewed.
Total cost
Beyond the sale price, taxes, duties and purchase expenses should be calculated.
Rental guarantee
The contract, guarantee period, start date and guarantor matter as much as the rate.
The purchase of immovable property in the TRNC by foreign nationals is subject to a permit application made to the Ministry of Interior. The application may be made in person, by power of attorney or through a lawyer.
Because the number of properties that may be acquired, the area limit, permit timescales and duties can change under the legislation, each case is confirmed against the current official source.
Residence procedures linked to property ownership are assessed separately under current TRNC legislation; buying a property does not on its own grant permanent residence.
